About Us
Who we are
In 2016, a small group of singers found themselves in want of an a cappella outlet. A group with a diverse range of music covering many genres that could entertain the masses. Discussions were had, meetings were held, emails were sent, and a rough repertoire of well known songs was compiled. And with the familiar 'Weeheeheehee dee heeheeheehee weeoh aweem away' of The Lion Sleeps Tonight and long debates about names, Euphonics was born. We don't sing that anymore and apologise for not only getting your hopes up, but planting that earworm.
Why Euphonics? When something is euphonic it is said to be a harmonious succession of words that are pleasing to the ear. A name we hope we live up to.
Our members are Joss Browning, Rachel Smeal, Nicole Salinas, Cathy Boxshall, Richard Gallier, Adam Rowland, Jamal Blakkarly, and Stephanie Teagle. Those who have followed us since the beginning will notice we've had a few changes over the years. We absolutely must give a special shout out to our friends who may no longer sing with us, but will always be a part of the magic. We aim to perform regularly, whether it be performing at markets and events around the local region, or traveling interstate to some of the amazing music festivals Australia has to offer. We feel our style is unique to Canberra and aim to offer an a cappella experience that can't be found with other groups.
